WAKISO – Headteacher of Real Infant Primary School in Wakiso District has been implicated by his pupils for aggravated defilement.
Bakulu real name Mpagi Didas has been pinned before the International Crimes Division Court sitting in Kololo, Kampala on Thursday, May 27.
Six pupils aged between 10-16 alleged that they were sexually exploited by their 28-year-old Headteacher.
It is said that he pays half tuition of the victims and their parents also pay half.
Mpagi who is said to have been sharing sleeping quarters with the pupils allegedly committed the crime between 2017 and 2019. The dormitory houses both the boys and the girls.
One of the victims, then aged 13years and now 16, has told the Presiding Judge, David Wangutsi that he fell victim to Mpagi’s actions after he was accused of talking in class. He says that that evening, Mpagi called him to his bed and asked him if he wanted to be forgiven. The victim says that the headteacher abused him several times from Primary 5 to Primary 7.
Bedsheets stained with victims blood and accused person’s semen have been tendered in court as an exhibit.
This victim also informed the court that he regrets having gone to that School, was mentally disturbed, could not concentrate on his studies, could not fit in with his peers and could not look them in the eyes. He adds that the accused used to tell the other students that he (the victim) was his husband and had impregnated him.
The Victim also told Justice Wangutsi that he threatened to report the accused to his parents. He adds that the accused, in turn, threatened to kidnap him and disappear.
Mpagi’s arrest was a result of concerned citizens who tipped off the police at CID Kibuli about the situation in the school.
Hearing of this case is still ongoing with now the 8th Prosecution witness being led by State Attorney Joseph Kyomuhendo.
