JINJA – Police in Jinja are holding a Muslim cleric for allegedly sodomising a 14-year old boy.
The Kiira North Police Commander Henry Mugarura on Tuesday said the suspect who is a self-styled Sheikh is a resident of Budondo sub-county in Jinja.
He said the suspect is said to have been given the young boy to teach him Arabic.
He said the boy whose relatives live in Kampala informed the neighbours about what was happening after developing complications in his Anus.
He said the suspect had hidden but police hunted for him for over a week.
Mugarura said the suspect is being held at Buwenge police station in Buwenge Town council as more evidence is collected before being produced to court.
Meanwhile, Police in Kiboga District are investigating the circumstances under which a 40- year -old man was murdered and his body dumped in a water dam.
According to police only identified the deceased only as Mutyaba ,a casual labourer and a resident of Kiswaga Kapeke Sub- County Kiboga District.
Wamala Regional Police Spokesperson, Ms Rachel Kawala said preliminary investigations indicate that the deceased was beaten to death and later dumped in the dam.
“The body of the deceased had severe injuries and swelling on the fore head, a cut on both upper and lower lips, bruises, and scratches at the back,” she said.
She said no suspect has been arrested yet.
