KAMPALA – The police on Wednesday, May 6 arrested two notorious fraudsters in Kampala, the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson SP Patrick Onyango revealed.

Onyango said that Twinamastsiko Samuel 25 and Akatunda Albert 40 years are both resident of Nsambya and land brokers.

“Its alleged that at around 0900 hours, Police 999 unit received information about a hardcore conmen that have been terrorising the people of Kampala and the group was being investigated by KMP South for fraud,” he said in a statement dated Thursday, May 7.

He added that, “The fraudsters were arrested in Nsambya during a joint operation carried out by Police 999 unit and detectives that laid a strategic trap at Nsambya opposite the hospital.”

Onyango noted that available information indicates that the thugs had earlier defrauded one Leo Nampongo Shs75 million under unclear circumstances.

“They are being detained at Katwe Police Station on charges of forgery and obtaining money by false pretences,” Onyango said.

He said detectives are working on their files and appealed to anybody who has ever been defrauded by the group to report to the nearest Police Station or to go to Katwe Police Station.
