NTOROKO – Panic gripped health workers at Karugutu health centre IV in Ntoroko District on Saturday when a group of men stormed the facility and hacked a patient to death.

Francine Wasuto, who is a fishmonger at Lake Albert, was hacked by men for allegedly causing the death of his brother through witchcraft.

Rwenzori West Regional police spokesperson Lydia Tumushabe said the attackers are residents of Rwangara Village in Kanara Sub County.

“It is alleged that Opio Jackson, a brother to the key suspect, died sometime back under unknown circumstances. So his relatives alleged that it’s this woman who bewitched him, so they first attacked her while in Kanara but she was rescued and admitted at Karugutu health centre, they later came and stormed the hospital hiding a pang in a jacket and had to cut off the woman’s head, she died instantly,” Tumushabe told this website in an interview.

She said the four men have been arrested.
