Teacher arrested for defiling 8-year-old pupil

WAKISO – Police in Kakiri has in custody a 26 year old teacher who has allegedly defiled his 8-year-old pupil.

Anthony Kayondo, a primary teacher was July 3 arrested for allegedly tarnishing teachers’ code of conduct and moral ethical behaviour by defiling his own pupil.

According to Police reports, Kayondo was contracted by the victim’s parents to coach their girl during weekends however was lured into having canal knowledge and defiled her innocence.

Kayondo was caught red handed by the residents upon seeing the duo branching off to a nearby bush in Nadangila.

Kayondo was beaten up by the residents however the situation was contained by the area police.

The suspect confessed before the parents and police to having had canal knowledge with the victim and is currently detained at Kakiri Police Station and faces charges of aggravated defilement.

According to the Penal Act Uganda 1950, a person who unlawfully has sexual intercourse with a girl under the age of eighteen commits an offence and is liable to suffer death.

If found guilty, Kayondo could face up to 18 years in prison for defilement.
