Three arrested for burglary

KAWEMPE: Tula Police under Kawempe Division yesterday 28th May arrested three suspects in connection to housebreak-ins and  a string of burglaries.

Suspects in custody, Hassan Muwonge, Rogers Ssekamate alias Boy and John Katimbo alias Young Mulo, were detained for breaking -in and making-away with property of one Ronald Kagiri, a residence of Kawempe.

“We received a tip-off over the incident and mounted a raid, arresting the prime suspect together with two accomplices,” said IP Dan Ampadde, the OC Tula Police Post

Reports reaching this website established that Investigators disclosed that the three suspects have been actively involved in committing burglaries and theft for about six months in Kawempe Tula, a Kampala suburb.

Several stolen items were recovered from their home which include a hisense flat screen, woofers, two computer sets, fan, female bags and personal documents among others which were identified by the owners.

Investigators reported that the three suspects had been released after serving Luzira Prison three months back.

On the Penal Code act

Ampadde, referring to the Penal Code Act, said that any person who breaks and enters any building, tent or vessel used as a human dwelling commits the felony termed housebreaking and is liable to imprisonment for seven years.

If the offence is committed in the night, it is termed burglary, and the offender is liable to imprisonment for ten years.
