JUBA – President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda arrived in Juba, South Sudan, today for a working visit. He was warmly received at Juba International Airport by his host, President Salva Kiir Mayardit.
The welcoming party included South Sudan’s Minister of Presidential Affairs, Hon. Chol Mawut Ajongo; Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Ramadan Muhammed Abdalla; and Minister of Defense and Veteran Affairs, Hon. Chol Thon Balok. Other senior government officials were also present.
From the Ugandan side, President Museveni was accompanied by Minister of Defense and Veteran Affairs, Hon. Jacob Oboth Oboth; Senior Presidential Advisor on Defence and Security, Gen. Proscovia Nalweyiso; and Ugandan Ambassador to South Sudan, H.E. Brig. Gen. Ronnie Balya.
As a symbol of respect, President Museveni inspected a guard of honor upon his arrival. The visit is expected to include bilateral talks between the two nations, with President Museveni meeting President Salva Kiir and other stakeholders.
