GULU – NRM Secretary General, Rt Hon. Richard Todwong, urged Ugandans to adopt President Yoweri Museveni’s strategy for household income generation and elect leaders aligned with the NRM’s socio-economic transformation.
Speaking at the NRM Baraza in Obiya Laroo Ward, Gulu City, Todwong emphasized the importance of electing leaders who can effectively communicate the people’s needs to the government, ensuring service delivery and development.
He criticized opposition leaders, saying they often fail to effectively communicate the people’s needs due to their focus on criticizing and insulting government officials.
He highlighted the NRM government’s initiatives, such as the Parish Development Model (PDM), Emyooga, and the Youth Livelihood Programs, aimed at empowering households economically.
“These programs are designed to ensure every family has the tools and resources they need to improve their livelihoods,” Todwong said.
During the event, over 100 former members of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) defected to the NRM party, and Todwong thanked party members for participating in the Register membership update exercise.
As the Secretary General of the NRM, Todwong plays a crucial role in implementing the party’s policies and decisions. With his experience as a former Minister Without Portfolio and Member of Parliament for Nwoya County, Todwong brings a wealth of knowledge to his position.
