KAMPALA – The Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) has announced a remarkable performance in tax revenue collection for the first half of the 2024/25 financial year.
According to the URA, the net revenue target for the entire year is UGX 31,369.16 billion, with 48% of this target (UGX 14,926.85 billion) expected to be collected between July and December 2024.
However, the URA exceeded this target, collecting UGX 15,248.99 billion in the first half of the year, representing a surplus of UGX 322 billion and a performance rate of 102.16%. This achievement marks a significant growth in net revenue of UGX 2,112.25 billion (16.08%) compared to the same period in the previous financial year.
“The notable surplus in revenue collection is a testament to the stable and resilient economic performance of our country, as well as the enhanced administrative measures we have put in place,” a URA announced in a statement.
“We also appreciate the good cooperation of our patriotic taxpayers, without whom this achievement would not have been possible.”
