Kampala, Uganda – The Speke Resort Convention Centre in Kampala, Uganda, has rounded off another successful and seamlessly hosting of high-level African Union (AU) summit that made major resolutions aimed at boosting the continent’s agricultural sector.
The Extraordinary Summit on the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) brought together African heads of state, ministers, and experts from January 9 to 11.
At the summit, whose objectives included endorsing the draft Kampala CAADP Declaration and the Ten-Year CAADP Strategy and Action Plan (2026-2035), presidents i including Kenya’s William Ruto, were seen partionately debating issues.

The discussions provided a vision for transforming Africa’s agrifood systems and outline strategies for achieving sustainable economic growth and shared prosperity, officials said.
Organisers, the Ministry of Agriculture of Uganda, and the AU Secretariat applauded the hosting facilities at Speke Resort Convention Centre, which contributed to the tenets of a successful summit.
