President Yoweri Museveni has inaugurated a new industrial hub in the Sebei region of Uganda, aimed at providing vocational training to thousands of young people.
The Sebei Zonal Presidential Industrial Hub, located in Kween District, is one of 19 similar facilities being established across the country.
The hub will offer training in a range of practical skills, including welding, baking, tailoring, and carpentry.
President Museveni said the hub was part of the government’s efforts to promote economic growth and development in the region.
“We want to equip our young people with the skills they need to succeed in the modern economy,” he said.
The hub is expected to provide employment opportunities for hundreds of young people in the region, and help to boost economic growth.
The government has said it plans to establish similar hubs in other parts of the country, as part of its efforts to promote industrialization and economic development.
Analysis
The launch of the Sebei Zonal Presidential Industrial Hub is the latest move by the Ugandan government to promote economic growth and development in the country.
The government has said it wants to create jobs and opportunities for young people, and to help Uganda become a middle-income country by 2040.
But critics say the government needs to do more to address the country’s high levels of poverty and inequality.
They also say that the government’s efforts to promote industrialization and economic development need to be matched by investments in education and training, to ensure that young people have the skills they need to succeed in the modern economy.
