PAKWACH, Uganda – November 27, 2024 – The Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) has issued a flood alert due to heavy flooding at Tangi Junction along the Olwiyo-Pakwach road, adjacent to Pakwach Bridge. The flooding has severely affected road connectivity between Arua and Gulu, as well as Gulu and Kampala.
According to UNRA, water levels are still high, and their teams are closely monitoring the situation. Interventions will commence as soon as the water levels subside.
In the meantime, travelers from Kampala to West Nile can still connect uninterrupted through the Paraa-Kisanja Park Junction road. Motorists from Gulu to West Nile are advised to use the Atiak-Adjumani route and cross using the Laropi Ferry to reach Moyo and surrounding areas.
Additionally, motorists traveling to Gulu, Lira, Kitgum, and beyond are advised to use the Masindi Port ferry through Rwenkunye off the Kampala-Gulu highway.
UNRA has assured the public that they will provide updates on any further developments to inform their journeys.
