KAMPALA, Uganda — The 4th Edition of the 2024 East Africa Brand Quality Awards took place at the Golf Course Hotel in Kampala, recognizing 100 companies for their commitment to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction.
The event brought together leading brands, policymakers, and industry experts from across the East African region to celebrate excellence in business practices. This year’s theme was “Sustainability: Improving Our People, Products and Planet.”
Patrick Nsubuga, brand ambassador for the East Africa Brand Quality Awards, said the awards serve as a platform for recognizing sustainable, ethical and innovative practices that drive growth in the East African region and beyond.
“‘At the heart of this celebration is trade, which is more than just the exchange of goods and services. It’s a powerful tool for achieving United Nations sustainable trade, with the potential to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure peace and prosperity for all,'” Nsubuga said.
The event also featured a call to action from industry experts, urging manufacturers to prioritize delivering quality to consumers and to seek ready markets for their products through the Investors’ Hub.
Prudence Ukkonika, CEO of Bella Wine, advised manufacturers to prioritize building strong brands over seeking immediate wealth, emphasizing the importance of producing high-quality products that foster trust among consumers.
“‘Make products that are good for health,'” Ukkonika said. “‘Avoid using harmful chemicals in your products.'”‘
