KAMPALA – City tycoon Sudhir Ruparelia has surprised his son, Rajiv, with a brand new McLaren 765LT Spider (2022) model, as a Diwali gift.
The supercar, popular in rally circles is worth about UGX. 1.7 billions, sources said.
Rajiv, known for his passion in the motor racing industry shared the unveiling photos on his social media, with a single comment; “Living my childhood dream.”
Rajiv also went ahead and shared photos of a joyride with both his parents, enjoying the luxurious McLaren together on the streets of London.
The move has sent tongues wagging in the rally circles, as to whether Rajiv, known to be a skilled upcoming driver, before he took a temporary break two years ago, was eyeing a comeback soon, having been off the Ugandan scene for the last two years, overseeing the family’s business interests in Europe.
The McLaren 765LT Spider is renowned for its speed and engineering. Equipped with a powerful 4.0L twin-turbocharged V8 engine, this supercar can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in breathtaking 2.8 seconds and from 0 to 200 km/h in just 7.2 seconds.
