NAKASEKE – Police in Nakaseke have in custody a man who has been posing as one of them.

Atwiine Allan, a 33-year-old male, a resident of Busabala Zone, Makindye Division, Kampala District was arrested on Friday at the Semuto traffic checkpoint in Kikondo Zone, Nakaseke District.

According to police, on the mentioned date, Atwiine Allan arrived at the checkpoint and began impersonating a police officer, specifically claiming to be a Superintendent of Police attached to Katwe Division in Kampala Metropolitan.

“However, the Officer in Charge of Traffic in Semuto became suspicious and conducted a thorough interrogation. Atwiine Allan eventually admitted to his impersonation, leading to his arrest, and a case of impersonation was formally registered,” said Twinamazima Sam, police spokesperson, Savannah Region.

“We strongly appeal to the public to refrain from impersonating police officers, as such actions are subject to severe penalties. If anyone encounters such impersonation, we urge you to promptly report it to the nearest authorities.”
