KAMPALA – Police at Jinja Road are investigating a suspected suicide by shooting of Canadian national.
Alzahir Wissanji allegedly shot himself on July 29, 2021 at around 12:25 PM in Bugolobi, Kampala City.
Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson says that the security guard of the premises where Wissanji was staying heard a bullet shot and “ran inside only to find that the deceased had locked himself inside the bathroom.”
“He knocked the door open only to find him in the bathroom in a pool of blood,” said Owoyesigyire.
Owoyesigyire said that the victim allegedly used a privately owned Pump Action.
“A bullet catridge has been recovered on the floor.”
“His body has since been conveyed to KCCA Mortuary Mulago for a postmortem as investigations are ongoing to ascertain the circumstances that led to the shooting continue.”
