KAMPALA – President Yoweri Museveni has promoted Wilson Mbasu Mbadi to a four-star General and appointed him the new Chief of Defence Forces – CDF.
Mbadi replaces General David Muhoozi who was recently appointed as the State Minister for Internal Affairs.
General Mbadi is a senior military officer in the Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF).
He was serving as the Deputy Chief of the Defence Forces and Inspector General of the UPDF.
He was appointed to that position in January 2017, replacing Lieutenant General Charles Angina, who became Deputy Commander of Operation Wealth Creation.
Immediately prior to his current position, from May 2013 until January 2017, he served as the Joint Chief of Staff of the UPDF, where he was replaced by Major General Joseph Musanyufu.
