KAMPALA – The National Unity Platform (NUP) has lost another member Shakira Nabagesera Kizza, a day after passing away of Kayunga District Chairperson, Feffeka Sserubogo.
The death of Nabagesera was announced by the party President, Bobi Wine real name Robert Kyagulanyi.
“This morning, the National Unity Platform family has been hit by another shocking tragedy. Our dear friend and comrade in the struggle Shakira Nabagesera Kizza passed on after several weeks of illness,” Bobi Wine posted on his social media handles on Thursday morning.
He says that Nabagesera has left a very big void that will be difficult to fill.
“Those who knew her will remember her commitment, devotion and friendship. It is very painful that she has gone at this time when her country needed her most.”
On Wednesday, the main opposition party and residents of Kayunga District woke up to the sad news of the death of their newly elected Chairperson LC5 Feffeka who was found hanging.
The body of Feffeka was found hanging behind his house in Kayunga town on Wednesday morning.
The deceased’s wife said that her husband returned home feeling unwell and took his high blood pressure medicines before sleeping.
Feffeka was also a Bugerere country representative in the Buganda lukiiko.
