KAMPALA — The National Resistance Movement’s — NRM —top organ, the Central Executive Committee — CEC— has selected former Deputy Speaker of 10th Parliament Jacob Oulanyah as its candidate for the Speakership of the 11th Parliament.

This was after Rebecca Kadaga lost majority vote in CEC meeting held at State House Entebbe on Sunday morning.

It is not immediately clear whether Kadaga will return to the race as an independent candidate for the post of Speakership

The election of the Speaker is scheduled for Monday next week at Kololo airstrip.

Over 300 MPs including the Deputy Leader of Government Business, Gen. Moses Ali had declared support for Kadaga before the party decision.
