KAMPALA – President Yoweri Museveni has elevated Linda Nabusayi to the role of Senior Presidential Press Secretary, replacing Don Wanyama – who was recently appointed Chief Executive Officer – CEO of the Vision Group.
Wanyama’s role as Senior Presidential Press Secretary ends on April 30 but in a bid to fill the impending vacuum, President Museveni has since appointed Nabusayi to take up the position that will soon fall free. The title is an advisory role on media.
“She is replacing Don (Wanyama) and seem to be excited about it – because it’s a promotion she rightly deserved because of her dedicated service in her previous role,” said a State House source that prayed not to be named.
Nabusayi – a career journalist replaced Moses Tamale Mirundi in 2015 as the Presidential Press Secretary – having been serving in the same office as deputy.
Nabusayi’s appointment brings an end to corridor-talks that has been ongoing as to who would take-up Wanyama’s office. The only option left for anyone longing for a State House job in the media department is that of the office of Nabusayi – the former president of the National Institute of Journalists in Uganda – NIJU.
