KAMPALA – When President Yoweri Museveni appointed several entertainers including motor-mouthed, Jennifer Nakajubi alias Full Figure as one of his advisors, many critics were quick to dismiss the choices – giving different views.
Full Figure, whose support for the ruling National Resistance Movement – NRM party is undisputable, has been serving the president as the advisor on youth matters but our sources reveal she is listed for a cabinet post – an elevation to become state minister in charge of youth and children.
“She worked tirelessly during the (recently) ended general campaigns; remember she even named her son Museveni in honour of the president –so she features prominently on the list,” revealed a State House source that prayed for anonymity.
Events’ promoter – Andrew Mukasa alias Bajjo, who like Full Figure ‘joined’ NRM at the ‘City Square’ from the People Power pressure group confirmed on Wednesday evening that indeed the faded singer is on the list but he was quick to accuse her of employing unknown tactics in order to be considered.
“My source had assured me that I had made the list – but later I was told that the same vacancy would now, go to Full Figure – I actually don’t what that woman wants from me!
“I played a big in the campaigns to ensure that President Museveni is returned with an overwhelming majority and indeed it happened. But from nowhere she came up to grab my chance,” fumed Bajjo, who voted to keep his loyalty with the NRM – hoping that he will be considered for a national office, one day.
Full Figure in her response said she had little time waste on haters.
“Who doesn’t know that I named my child Museveni – whoever believes that it’s a mean achievement should try it,” she bragged off.
But as we dug deep into this matter – especially in the search for other names listed for the upcoming cabinet job, we realized that today is April 1!
April 1 – commonly referred to as April Fool’s Day – was first celebrated in Europe but soon spread across different parts of the world, Uganda inclusive. It is the day when people can pull a prank and get away with it.
It was April 1, as believed, when the change of calendar from Julian to Gregorian was initiated, hence making it the most commonly believed reason for celebrating the day. Reportedly, while many refused to accept the change and continued following the Julian calendar, France was the first country to accept and implement the new calendar.
