Two police officers charged for shooting Busia Municipality MP’s bodyguard

KAMPALA – Police has Thursday charged two police officers who allegedly shot and killed Kakai Ivan the former bodyguard of Hon.Macho Alfred the MP for Busia Municipality.

According to the CID Spokesperson Twiine Charles, the incident allegedly happened on November 15, 2020 at Sophia A, Eastern ward, Busia Municipality in Busia District.

“Javuru Patrick attached to Crime Intelligence and Chelogoi attached to Flying squad unit with Malice aforethought caused death to the deceased Kakai,” said Twiine.

“Investigations were conducted and upon completion, charges of murder have been preferred against the suspects, arraigned to Busia court and remanded till January 7,2021,” he said in a statement.

He noted that police regrets this unfortunate incident.

“And assures the general public of our commitment to the despensation of timely justice with utmost impertiality,” reads an excerpt.

Twiine added, “Our thoughts and condolences go to the family of the deceased, the UPDF fraternity and the General public.”
