KAMPALA – The Criminal Division of the High Court has on Tuesday, November 10 resumed a Juvenile criminal session, targeting 37 cases. The session is before Lady Justice Dr. Winfred Nabisinde.

According to the Division’s Deputy Registrar, Mary Kaitesi, the matters to be handled are those that were halted early this year as a result of the COVID-19 lockdown.

“The session will run for three weeks,” said Ms. Kaitesi, adding that it consists of 20 cases of aggravated defilement, aggravated robbery (11), murder (04) and rape cases (02).

This will be the third Juvenile session to be handled by the Division this year, following sessions in June and August this year under the head of the Division, Justice Wilson Kwesiga in which 20 and 34 cases were concluded, respectively.
