KAMPALA – President Yoweri Museveni has apologized to his supporters who stand by the road side for not addressing them even when they ask him to.

In a video posted on his official social media platforms, Museveni revealed that on his way from Namalele Agricultural station, he met a large number of people along the way near Kawanda,in the valley below Kawanda, kagoma to bwaise, who were standing on the two sides of the road.

“They wanted me to stop and talk to them. I actually wanted to stop at Kawanda because I saw Nalongo there one of our mobilisers and I tried to tell people to get a document from her,” he said.

Museveni said this is a good gesture as it shows the love the people have for the movement.

“I apologise to them, I didn’t intend to stop, and even where I stopped,I didn’t get out of the car because it is very dangerous even for you,” said Museveni.

He added that, “So don’t think I ignored you, we can’t do that unless we have solved the coronavirus issue.”

He further appealed to the by standers to always wear masks and maintain social distancing as most of them defied the COVID-19 guidelines.

Museveni noted that the reason why few people have did of COVID-19 is because of the strict measures the government put up.
