178 new COVID-19 cases registered on Tuesday

KAMPALA – Uganda has registered 178 new COVID-19 cases from tests done on Tuesday, October 6,2020.

This brings the total confirmed cases of Ugandans to 9,260.

According to the health ministry, 176 are alerts and contacts to previously confimed cases.

“Kampala (31), Moroto (28), Kotido (28), Kiryandongo (25), Mukono (9), Napak (7), Rubanda (7), Kaberamaido (8), Wakiso (6), Moyo (6), Katakwi (3), Soroti (3), Amuru (4), Buvuma (2), Gomba (2), Buikwe (1), Jinja (2)Kaabong (1), Kisoro (1), Nakapiripirit (1) and Ntungamo (1),” the ministry revealed in a statement.

The ministry further noted that 1 returnee from Tanzania and 1 truck driver from Mutukula also tested for COVID-19.

Uganda has also confirmed one new COVID-19 death from Jinja.

This rises the death toll to 85 while the recoveries are now 5,588.
