KAMPALA – The home of the government Spokesperson, Ofwono Opondo has been raided by yet to be known assailants, PML Daily has learned.

Opondo who was appearing on NBS Frontline talk show on Thursday night received information that his family, back in Mukono, wes under attack.

“For now, I have lost contact with members of my family reported to be under attack by unknown people,” Opondo tweeted.

He revealed that the machete wielding individuals had gained access to his bedroom and compound before police were immediately alerted.

“Our territorial team from Mukono responded to the disturbance call from the home of Mr. Ofwono Opondo, the government spokesperson,” a police statement reads.

Opondo, however, says the Police managed to gain access to his home and found a mess left behind by the assailants. A few items including money had been taken.

“ The [assailants] reportedly forced my wife and three daughters into another room,” Opondo tweeted.

The Police have not yet found these assailants. A communication on their social media handles indicates that Ofwono Opndo’s family was secured and is safe.

“I want to thank the police KPM Moses Kafero for the quick response although they haven’t got the assailants yet,” Opondo says.
