KAMPALA – The National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) headquarters has temporarily closed shop fearing spread of coronavirus.
This follows the Covid-19 screening tests that were conducted where one person tested positive.
In a release, NIRA revealed that as a precautionary measure to cub down the spread of the pandemic, they have closed for two days.
“To avoid further spread and infections, the offices are being disinfected in this short period of time in line with the Ministry of Health guidelines,” they said.
NIRA, however, advised clients to access services from other nearest offices in their respective districts and division offices.
They also advised members of the public to continue observing the SOPs and to take necessarily precaution measures as outlined by the Ministry of Health to prevent the spread of infection.
