NAMUTUMBA – State Minister for Lands Persis Namuganza’s agent in the Bukono Constituency primaries has been reported dead on election day.

According to NRM Electoral Commission Chairperson Dr Tanga Odoi, it is alleged that the agent was killed and police has started investigations into the matter.

“Whoever is connected to the death of Namuganza’s agent will be apprehended,” he said.

He further called off the elections until further notice.

“I have suspended elections in Bukono constituency because Hon. Persis Namuganza’s agent was killed this morning. We have sent police to arrest anyone connected to that killing” Dr. Odoi said.

The NRM primary elections have been characterised with violence which justifies the suspension of elections in some constituencies.

Dr Tanga suspended elections in Mawogola West, Mawogola North because of violence.

Additionally, Kigulu South elections were called off after one aspirant Stephen Waako got involved in a car accident.
