NWYOWA – A 58-year-old man at the weekend collapsed and died in what is suspected to be a shock following the invasion of his garden by 16 stray elephants in Pakawera village, Lii Sub County in Nwoya district.
Bosco Ojara reportedly died shortly after he attempted to chase the elephants but failed, according to his wife Joyce Aunu.
The deceased reportedly lost four acres of maize to the stray elephants.
The sub county Chairperson John Bosco Okullu, told that the deceased could have died as a result of shock after seeing that his source of livelihood was no more.
“The deceased on coming out and seeing the stray elephants in large numbers, he collapsed shortly and passed on after 30 minutes,’’ he said
Mr Wilson Kagoro, the area conservation manager, said rangers are on ground to drive back the stray animals.
