He was a confident man with high esteem! NRM pays tribute to fallen Ssebagala

KAMPALA – The ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) has described the late Former Kampala Lord Mayor Al Hajji Nasser Ntege Sebaggala as a confident man with high esteem and a great ability to build different circles around him and beyond.

This was during the party’s weekly press briefing at it’s headquarters in Kampala on Sunday 27,2020.

Ssebagala died on Saturday, September 26 morning at International Hospital Kampala where he had been admitted after he developed a disorder in his stomach, commonly referred to as intussusception.

Party Secretary General Rt. Hon. Justine Kasule Lumumba advised youths to borrow Ssebagala’s shoes if they want to succeed beyond borders.

“I call upon the young to have confidence in themselves so as to move beyond their borders,” she said.

On the issue of the electoral violence, the Secretary General assured the media that the issue is being handled by the legal team and all those who violated the laws will be brought to justice.

On Mowogola South and Mawogola North constituencies, she noted that the elections have further been postponed to 30th September.

“The elections were postponed to enable voters, candidates and electoral officials to organize so that we don’t get the same intimidation’s and violence.” The Secretary General announced.

The Legal Director, Oscar Kihika in his presence assured the press that the handling of petitions were completed on Saturday 26, 2020 and that the team is expected to seat from 26th September to 4th October. The hearing of the petitions will be held at Plot 13 NRM Electoral Commission) from 9am to 1pm daily and petitioners are expected to appear in person.

Counsel Kihika also noted that they are handling 2080 petitions for Parliamentary primaries and have completed over 80 LCV chairpersons and councilors, over 125 LC3 and mayors were handled last week.

“We have segmented the petitions in regions, starting from Lango and Kigezi sub-regions and we shall handle each region on the stated dates as announced in the newspapers”

Others present were; the Deputy National Treasurer Hon Jacqueline Kyatuheire, Hon Emmanuel Lumala Dombo – Director for Information, Publicity and Public Relations, Counsel Oscar Kihika -Director Legal Affairs, Mr Enoch Barata among others.
