KAMPALA – President Museveni currently addressing the nation about the Covid-19 crisis has indicated that the government will allow all candidates to return on October 15, 2020.

“The cost of waiting is too much,” the President said, adding that with only 2 million students returning to school, there will be a good chance of practicing social distancing in the school communities.

“The schools will now open in a limited way,” the president said.

P.7, S.4 and S.6 candidates and finalists in all higher institutions of learning will all return to school.

“A solution for the remaining batch of learners will be found by January 2021,” the President said.

Under the arrangement, the President said, international schools have too been allowed to open operations since they handle small numbers.
