COVID-19 CRISIS: Minister Aceng to address the nation on Wednesday

KAMPALA – The Minister of Health, Jane Ruth Aceng will address the nation on Wednesday, September,30,2020 Spokesperson Emmanuel Ainebyoona has said.

“The Minister of Health, @JaneRuth_Aceng Aceng Ocero is expected to address the country on the COVID-19 Response tomorrow via @ubctvuganda and all other media houses,” Ainebyoona posted on his official social media pages.

He further revealed that some new measures shall be announced and “Time to be confirmed.”

MOH statistics indicate that the total confirmed COVID-19 cases of Ugandans is 7,777, the death toll stands at 75 while 4,033 have recovered from the coronavirus as of September 27,2020.

In his last address, President Museveni approved the re-opening of schools for candidates and finalists on October 15, 2020.

“We have decided to re-open schools for the candidates including P7, S4, S6 and finalists in universities and tertiary universities. We believe that the number of these is small,” he said while addressing the nation on the COVID-19 status in the country.

Museveni announced the reopening of the international Airport to tourists with immediate effect.

The President also announced that places of worship will be allowed to open, especially for confessions and counselling.

He added that sports activities will be allowed to resume “provided there are no spectators at the stadia”
