146 new COVID-19 cases confirmed on Friday

KAMPALA – The Ministry of Health has confirmed 146 new COVID-19 cases from tests done on Friday, September 25,2020.

This brings the total confirmed cases of Ugandans to 7,364.

According to the ministry 133 of the new confirmed cases are alerts and contacts to previously confimed cases.

“Kampala (51), Namisindwa (13), Arua (12), Mityana (10), Tororo (7), Busia (5), Kitgum (5), Mbale (5), Nwoya (5), Wakiso (5), Gulu (3), Bukwo (4), Jinja (2), Karenga (2), Lira (1), Luwero (1), Soroti (1) and Yumbe (1),” reads part of a statement from the ministry.

The ministry further revealed that 7 truck drivers with 6 from Malaba and 1 from Busia tested positive for COVID-19.

Additionally, 6 returnees with 4 from Saudi Arabia, 1 from Malawi and 1 from South Sudan were also infected with the virus.

MOH statistics indicate that 3,647 have recovered from COVID-19 while 71 have died from the same.
