BREAKING! 99 new COVID-19 infections confirmed on Monday as Uganda death toll rises to 22

KAMPALA – The Ministry of Health has announced 99 new coronavirus cases bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 2,362.

Part of the confimed cases are 84 contacts and alerts with 49 from Kampala, 8 from Kikuube, 5 from Gulu, 4 from Sironko, 3 from Lamwo, 3 from Lira, 2 Luweero, 2 from Toronto, 2 from Yumbe, 7 cases from Mbale, Abim, Amuru, Bundibugyo, Kotido, Kiryandongo and Namisindwa with one case each district.

According to the ministry 5 health workers tested positive for the virus with 2 from Kampala, 1 from Mbale, 1 from Kikuube and 1 from Gulu.

Six returnees were confirmed positive and 4 truck drivers from different border points.

Additionally the ministry has announced two coronavirus deaths rising the numbers to 22.

” A 35 year old female and trader from kikuubo, Kampala and a 36 year old male from Kisenyi,” the ministry revealed.
