Kenyan media Personality Jeff Koinange tests positive for Coronavirus

NAIROBI — Popular Kenyan media personality Jeff Koinange has on Monday, July 20, revealed that he had tested positive for Covid-19.

Mr. Koinange, a news anchor and talkshow host at Citizen TV Kenyan informed his fans across his various social media platforms that he was doing well, adding that he was not displaying any of the symptoms associated with the coronavirus.

“Folks, just to let you know, I have tested positive for Covid-19. I am doing Good. No symptoms…and my family is fine. All my close contacts have been informed. Right now I am in self-isolation. Many thanks to Royal Media Services management for its support. Stay safe and God bless!” he tweeted.

From the moment he sent out the message to is 1.7 million followers on Twitter, there was an outpouring of good will messages, as Kenyans wished him a quick recovery.

“You’ll be fine. You’re in my thoughts and prayers,” renowned media personality Caroline Mutoko posted.

“All the best buddy. You are in my prayers.” Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen added.

Journalists have been at the front line in the fight against the pandemic by moving out to gather information, just to help keep the the public updated on the status of the war against the virus.

This has greatly increased their risk of exposure, with several media houses now confirming positive Covid-19 cases among their staff.
