MUKONO – Police in Aswa River region are holding a 44- year old Aggrey Mukabire, 44, a resident of Lanyonyi village, Nama Sub County in Mukono district over impersonating as police officer

The suspect Mukabire is said to be a security guard who escaped from duty at Abacus Pharmaceutical in Mukono disguising as a Police officer attached to land protection unit with an intention to solicit money over land wrangles.

Aswa River Region Police Spokesperson Mr Jimmy Patrick Okema said that the police intercepted him (Mukabire) ferrying locals from Gulu to Nwoya district saying he was sent from police headquarter to resolve their land dispute among the family members

“Mukabire claimed to be a police officer at a rank of ASP attached to Land protection unit police headquarters, he went ahead to gather people from Gulu and was transporting them to Nwoya district to solve their land issue with other family members who stay in their alleged land,” Mr Okema said

“He has been charged with impersonation and is currently being detained in Nwoya police station waiting to be arraigned in court on Monday,” Mr Okema said.
