KAMPALA – Police are hunting for two armed thugs who cut off fingers of a security guard who blocked them as they attempted to break into a Bank of Uganda (BoU) clinic in Kampala.

According to police, when the security guard at the clinic located on Kampala saw the thugs, he made an alarm but the guards blocked him and cut off his fingers as a way of scaring him into silence.

However, he screamed, attracting the attention of police which fired into the air, forcing the thugs to take off.

Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire confirmed the incident.

“The thugs fired in the air but they did not enter. The police came in and also fired in the air. But the thugs took off after cutting the guard’s fingers,” Owoyesigyire said

He said Police were also trying to get Closed Circuit Television –CCTV footage from the offices and nearby building to trace the thugs.
