Five discharged from quarantine in Ntungamo

NTUNGAMO – Five suspected Covid-19 patients, who have been under institutional quarantine at Ntungamo Health Training Institute Nyarutuuntu were on Monday, 01 June 2020 discharge.

Those discharged include three males and two females from Kafunjo Mirama Town council and Kizinga in Ngoma sub county respectively.

Ntungamo Resident District Commissioner George Bakunda presented certificates from the Ministry of Health to the discharged suspects that completed 14 days in the quarantine but advised them o observe the existing guidelines aimed at containing the pandemic in their communities.

RDC Bakunda thanked the discharged people for obeying government guidelines but asked them to be exemplary in controlling the spread of coronavirus in their communities.

The discharged suspects were arrested on May 14 as some of them crossed Kizinga border for business while others were suspected to have come in contact with truck drivers in Rubaare, Kafunjo and Ntungamo Municipality.

The Principal Nursing officer who is also in charge of the quarantine centre Sister Hope Katusiime said that at least 9 people have remained in the quarantines centre.

Sister Katusiime noted that so far 60 individuals have been discharged in Ntungamo district.

Present were Nyeete Japheth the acting district health inspector.
