CJ, Minister of Finance tour construction site of appellate courts

KAMPALA – The Chief Justice, Bart M. Katureebe, together with the Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, Matia Kasaija, have been on Thursday taken on a guided tour at the construction site of the appellate courts at the Judiciary headquarters in Kampala.

Dr. Eng. Christopher Ebal, Judiciary’s Commissioner for Engineering and Technical Services explained to the Chief Justice and the Minister that everything is on course to ensure that Supreme Court and Court of Appeal twin-buildings are ready in two years.

Mr Pius Bigirimana, the Permanent Secretary and Secretary to Judiciary, who was also part of the entourage added that his office has been giving the contractor all the necessary support to ensure works on the Shs63.9 billion twin buildings remains on course.

The Minister who had paid a courtesy call on the Chief Justice applauded the developments at the Judiciary headquarters.

While presiding over the groundbreaking ceremony on December 5, 2019, the Chief Justice, Bart M. Katureebe, said the project was part of a larger one, which aims at ensuring that the Judiciary is transformed.
