KAMPALA — President Yoweri Museveni who is the national chairman for the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party has on Saturday June 20 nominated new flag bearers to take on leadership at party National Secretariat.
Mr. Museveni announced the proposals to the party Central Executive Committee (CEC), the top leadership organ of the NRM— sitting at State House Entebbe
The four leaders nominated by Mr Museveni include EALA Member of Parliament Mathias Kasamba (Director Mobilisation), Jacqiline Kyatuheire former Kanungu Woman MP (Deputy National Treasurer), Emmanuel Dombo (Director Information and Publicity) and Madina Naham (Finance and Administration).
CEC comprises top leaders of the party, including vice chairpersons, the secretary general, and other members of the party’s executive.
Rogers Mulindwa, the NRM communications and Public Relations manager said approval of the new officers is scheduled for Tuesday next week.
On Sunday, he said CEC will discuss the part political roadmap ahead of national general elections.
Dr Tanga Odoi, the chairperson of the NRM electoral commission, only told journalists that they were set to present their proposal to CEC on how they intend to handle the primaries to select candidates for Parliament and Local Council elections.
