Two arrested for bribing a police officer

KAJJANSI- Police in Kajjansi have arrested two people on allegations of bribing a police officer Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson SP Patrick Onyango has revealed.

Onyango said the two suspects identified as Walugembe Richard and Baale Remogio are currently detained at Kajjansi Police Station.

“According to the investigating officer, who is at the same time the victim in this crime, Police at Kajansi impounded a motor vehicle registration number UAT 924D, which was allegedly robbing members of the public and investigations were ongoing into the matter,” Onyango narrated in a statement.

He said the two suspects decided to offer a bribe to the him to have it released and they were caught in action while handing it over (USH 400,000 )to the police officer.

“We want to thank our officer for being professional and for reporting such an act,” he said.

Onyango added that, “Investigations into the matter are still ongoing.”
