Traffic officer knocked by speeding vehicle dies

KAMPALA – The traffic officer who was knocked by a motor vehicle has on Tuesday, May 26 passed on.

According to Patrick Onyango, the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, PC Innocent Ayesigye was knocked on May 24, 2020 at Namanve along Kampala-Jinja highway.

In a Facebook post Onyango noted that, “Our Traffic Officer NO. 59242 PC AYESIGYE INNOCENT who was knocked by motor vehicle registration number UAS 597U RAV4 has passed on at Rubaga Hospital this morning.”

He added that they are still looking for the driver of car and asked him to report to the nearest police station.
