MBARARA – Lt. Col. Benon Kazoora, a former director of political intelligence at the External Security Organisation (ESO), was on Saturday laid to rest after succumbing to cancer on Thursday, May 20. He was 65.
According to his nephew, Albert Gomes Mugumya, the Cuban trained military officer had been battling cancer of the tongue for two years and he was announced dead by Nakasero Hospital.
He was laid to rest at his home in Rutooma, Kashaari in Mbarara district on Saturday.
He is survived by two sons.
Col. Benon Kazoora, who studied from Moscow University, joined ESO in 1986.
He is a young brother to NRA bushwar hero and former Member of Parliament for Kashaari Maj. John Kazoora.
