Rugunda, Lumumba to launch Manifesto Week on Friday

KAMPALA – The Prime Minister Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda will together with the NRM Party Secretary General, Jusstine Kasule Lumumba launch the activities of the Manifesto Week on Friday, May 15, 2020.

According to Mr. Willis Bashaasha, the Director, Manifesto Implementation Unit, Office of the Predident, the 10-day activity will highlight the main achievements of the National Resistance Movement-led government four years since President Yoweri Museveni was sworn in on May 12, 2016 for the 2016-2021 term.

“It’s the last report card of this term,” Mr. Bashaasha told a press conference called via zoom.

“Ministers who are the leadeaders of several MDA’s, will come forward to report to Ugandans about what has been achieved on the ground ever since His Excellency the President signed a social contract with Ugandans to deliver several services for this term,” Mr. Bashaasha said.

Friday’s Manifesto Week launch will also be addressed by the Minister for Presidency Esther Mbayo and the ICT & National Guidance Minister Ms Judith Nabakooba.

Ms Nabakooba said:
“The manifesto week will go on as planned amidst COVID-19 pandemic. It will start on 18th May, 2020 to 29 May, 2020. We are going to use this week to account for what has been achieved so far by the government under the different ministries, departments and agencies”.

The Manifesto Week is celebrated in May every year with activities geared towards taking stock of the achievements of the government, Ministries, Departments and Agencies will in the course of the week make presentations to the public on what they have done so far.

This year’s presentations will run from May 15 to May 25, 2020 at the Office of the President Auditorium, Kampala.
