COVID-19 CRISIS: Brig-Gen John Mugyenyi boosts Covid-19 Fund with brand new pickup truck

KAMPALA – Retired UPDF Senior Officer Brig-Gen John Mugyenyi has on Monday, May 4 boosted the National Response Fund to COVID-19 with a brand new Isuzu pick up truck as the country battles the effects of the Coronavirus disruptions.

The donation was handed over to the Minister for General Duties Mary Karooro Okurut, who also oversees the fundraising effort and the Fund on behalf of the President by Mrs Hope Mugyenyi, who represented the retired general, a former intelligence services — JATT commander.

Ms Hope Mugyanyi said:
“Brigadier General Mugenyi today has donated a Double-Cabin pick truck to the National Response Fund following President Museveni’s appeal to individuals and companies to donate towards the fight of Covid-19. He is happy to support the president and the government initiative to fight Covid-19”.

Minister Karooro commended the retired general saying;
“We appreciate all this generosity and contribution by Brig-Gen John Mugyenyi that will aid the COVID-19 National Taskforce in providing medical teams countrywide with a means of transport that improves their working conditions as they fight the pandemic.”

President Museveni has personally been fund-raising for 4-wheel drive vehicles for the district medical teams to respond to emergency cases during any pandemics.
