KAMPALA – Mr. Kakwenza Rukirabashaija, famed for his political views on Facebook and Twitter, has gone missing, according to his Family and friends.
He was reportedly arrested from his home in Iganga on Tuesday April 14 by security agents, citing cyber harassment.
An author, Mr. Kakwenza latest piece “The Greedy Barbarian” has various connotations that could have upset the current political authorities, friends say.
“He went missing on Tuesday from his home in Iganga. He is said to have been picked up by security agents, allegedly, for ‘cyber harassment.’ Hoping the Iganga DPC will say something today but rumours are that he is being held at Mbuya military barracks. If so, it means the alleged cyber harassment is nothing but his book, The Greedy Barbarian,” a friend wrote on Facebook.
A hashtag #freeKakeenza has since gone viral on the social media networks.
