COVID-19 CRISIS: KCCA to renovate roads in city amid lockdown

KAMPALA- The Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) spokesperson Peter Kaujju has revealed they are going to take advantage of the lockdown to renovate some roads.

He made the remarks in an online interview with NBS television on Wednesday, April 8, 2020.

According to Mr Kaujju, these are not good times to do the work as the key priority is fighting the spread of Corona virus however they shall carry on with the work.

“For the last seven days, we have been renovating Queen’s way road that is the second biggest road in the city,” he said.

He added that,”In the next few days, we have plans to relocate the clocktower due to the flyover constructions.”

Mr Kaujju further said they shall also demarcate lanes for both taxi and boda bodas.

“Even after the lockdown is lifted, we shall continue with these projects,”said Kaujju.

He revealed that they are working day and night to make sure they conclude the projects.
