Status update on the COVOD19 situation in the Country.

Posted by Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Wednesday, April 8, 2020

KAMPALA — President Museveni, who is currently addressing the country for the 6th time over Coronavirus pandemic has warned those taking measures put forward by government to halt spread lightly, by trying to beat the lockdown that he will act harshly.

“We are not talking about convenience! So I get surprised when somebody complains — I have been inconvenienced, this and that!” he says in his current adress live on TV.

“We are trying to stop mass deaths! That’s why we put the 33 measures. It’s a matter of life and death,” the president says.

“In fact I am going to act harshly on those taking these measures lightly,” he says.

The Uganda government has taken firm steps to prevent the spread, including instituting a total lockdown in the country with movement of persons restricted and a night curfew enforced.

The initiatives are intended to give the Ministry of Health the opportunity to trace alm the persons at risk of contracting and spreading the virus such that it’s threat is completely decimated.
