COVID-19 CRISIS: Sudhir responds to Museveni call, to donate two new pickup trucks for Coronavirus fight

KAMPALA — Mr. Sudhir Ruparelia, Chairman of the Ruparelia Group has on Saturday April 04, announced a donation of two branCOVID-19dy new pickup trucks towards the current government efforts to fight the spread of the novel Coronavirus in the country.

Mr. Sudhir said the donation of the two new Tata Xenon XLT S.Cab 4×2 with 3100mm Wheel Base, through the Ruparelia Foundation is in response to President Museveni’s call to especially the country’s business community to help with the mobility of the health teams in the districts to timely and effectively respond to any cases of Coronavirus in the countryside.

President Museveni while addressing the nation on Friday April 04 night said:

“I call upon our rich people to contribute new vehicles so long as they are 4-wheel drive. I won’t accept the second hand. Even after this problem is over, this can be the fleet of the Ministry of Health”.

Mr. Sudhir says the Ruparelia Family, through the Ruparelia Foundation is happy to contribute to the national effort to contain the spread of the Coronavirus because it posses the biggest threat to human race, and a concerted, united effort is a better answer in response to the pandemic.

Uganda, has by April 04 registered 48 cases of the novel Coronavirus had the government has taken firm steps to prevent the spread, including instituting a total lockdown in the country with movement of persons restricted and a night curfew enforced.

The initiatives are intended to give the Ministry of Health the opportunity to trace alm the persons at risk of contracting and spreading the virus such that it’s threat is completely decimated.
