KAMPALA – The Councillor for Lubaga South, Lubaga Division in Kampala Capital City Authority, Ms Faridah Nakabugo, has explained that the food items found in a house in Nakabugo zone along Mityana road, Wakiso District belong to her and she purchased them using her own money.

Pictures have been making rounds on social media insinuating that police impounded the food items from the house of KCCA Speaker Abubaker Kawalya who allegedly stole them from government.

But in an interview with this website on Sunday, April 19, 2020, Ms Nakabugo said that Mr Kawalya has nothing to do with the food items, which include several bags of posho, rice, beans, sanitizers and cooking oil.

She instead said that the house where the items were found belongs to her and that she bought the items with plans of distributing them to starving residents.

Police spokesman Fred Enanga was not available to explain why police officers have remained guarding the house.
